Second Semester Advice
As classes for the second semester start to ramp up, MCMP would like to offer some advice to make the semester great.
Firstly, time management can be a very important skill to help combat a stressful workload. Using tools like Google Calendar, Reminders, and planners make it simple and easy to keep track of assignments and to do’s. Similarly, starting your day off by making a To Do List will help to ensure that you accomplish your tasks while also making you feel productive as you cross something off the list. When thinking about time management, it’s good to remember to leave time for yourself each day to relax and decompress.
On a more fun note, second semester should be a time to try new things. There’s a plethora of sports to watch like gymnastics meets, baseball games, and hockey games. In addition to sports, the Michigan Theater also has plays and musicals this spring that are free to all students. Around Ann Arbor there are also events like concerts, comedy shows, and bowling. Ann Arbor has a bunch of opportunities for students to have fun both on and off campus.
Another good way to switch things up this semester is to rethink your study spot. There are so many spots on campus that can inspire and are not as boring as the UGLI. For example, Darwin’s Cafe, the Michigan League, Palmer Commons, the basement of the Social Work Building, or the School of Kinesiology are all great study spots on campus. Changing your study spot a couple of times helps to keep your mind fresh.
Be on the lookout for future MCMP blog posts and meetings!
